THEFT OF OIL
On Wednesday 1st April 2026, whilst out on routine patrol , Constables from our Rural Task Force sighted a vehicle at Market Weighton. The vehicle was linked to oil thefts in North Yorkshire. The vehicle was stopped and searched. Inside the vehicle, Police found it to contain around 200 litres of oil within it. The vehicle was seized as being used in crime and both the driver and passenger were arrested on suspicion of theft of oil.
The two males were taken into custody. Enquiries are ongoing.
Our Rural Task Force is committed in tackling, preventing and investigating all types of crime that affects our rural communities. This includes partnership working and working with our neighbouring Police Forces to be both reactive to crimes in progress and proactive in our intelligence led and targeted patrols. | ||
